International postgraduate

We host a number of international postgraduates in most years and we are always keen to host more students who would like to complete a degree in a geology department with an excellent international reputation. Before deciding to come to Otago you should visit our research section and see what the research interests of our staff are. You should then contact the appropriate staff member directly and also send a copy of your email to our Academic Administrator. You will need to apply for admission to the University of Otago via the international section.

Once you have decided that you would like to come to Otago you will need to find funding to pay your international fees. You may be eligable for geology department scholarships or for more general University of Otago international scholarships.

As of 2006 there are no longer any foreign fees for PhD study in New Zealand so that you pay the same as local PhD students!
