Petrology at the Field Scale

We pride ourselves on a strong field component to our research, and most projects undertake a degree of field mapping and/or sampling. The close proximity of mountains and rain forests means that fieldwork often enables us to visit some beautiful and remote places, sometimes even areas that have never ever been visited by geologists. The extreme varieties in rock-types exposed enables examination of many different aspects, so it is easy not to get pigeon-holed into one topic. Much of the research takes place in New Zealand, although we have a presence in Antarctica too.

There are many field-based projects on the go; two examples are listed below:
