Barrister and Solicitor of the Province of Alberta (Canada 2005)

I was appointed a Senior Lecturer in the faculty in 2011.

Born, raised and educated in the Great White North of Canada, I obtained my first law degree from a university that was founded in the middle of the nineteenth century by immigrants proud of their Scots heritage—not from Otago, but from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Subsequent to that, I served as a clerk to the justices of the Court of Appeal of Alberta and the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta. In 2005, I was admitted to the bar as a barrister and solicitor in the Province of Alberta.  Along the way, I also worked in the litigation department of a large multinational law firm and earned my Masters of Law degree from Harvard Law School. In 2005, I was a Visiting Professor of International and Comparative Law at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, USA.
