Textbook required for 2015

The required textbook for ACCT 222 (both semesters) is:

Horngren, C.T., Datar, S.M and Rajan, M.V. (2015) Cost Accounting. A Managerial Emphasis (15th edition), Essex, Pearson.

This is the new edition of the textbook that has been used in the past few years in the ACCT 222 course. It can be purchased with or without a usercode that gives access to an interactive computer-based bank of study questions and answers and some multimedia resources (MyAccountingLab). It costs about $10 more for the textbook with the usercode and this is highly recommended but not essential. If cost is an issue, you can manage with an earlier edition of the text but it is not ideal as reading pages, seminar questions and some assignment requirements for the course are specified in terms of the 15th edition. You will also have no access to MyAccountingLab unless you purchase a usercode through the UK Pearson website and this will be approximately $50.

Also note that seminars start in the first week (i.e. the first class is on Monday 23 February) and the first assessed assignment is due on Thursday 5 March (end of 2nd week).

ACCT233 Fundamentals of Accounting for Financial Decisions (S1)

The preparation and uses of accounting information for internal and external financial decision-making, including extensive use of Excel spreadsheet skills that lend support for this.

ACCT233: prerequisites, restrictions, fees and timetables, course outline and more
