Would you like to promote your work to Industry Leaders, International Investors, Primary Producers and Future Scientists?
Ag@Otago will be highlighting Innovation in Agriculture from selected University of Otago scientists through a variety of events and opportunities in 2018.
Established as one of 11 Research Themes, Ag@Otago works collaboratively across a number of disciplines and aims to underpin Innovation in Agriculture and the profitability and sustainability of New Zealand's primary industries, with specific focus on:
o Enhancing agricultural productivity
o Adding value to primary industry products
o Sustainable and profitable environmental management.
Ag@Otago is going to Southern Field Days 2018!
To ensure its aims are met, Ag@Otago will be coordinating the University of Otago display at Southern Field Days in 2018 and need expressions of interest from people like you, who would embrace the opportunity to actively engage with a wide audience and showcase their projects.
The Southern Field Days is being held at Waimumu on 14 – 16 February.
Alongside these events the Ag@Otago website is being refreshed and the selected projects will be presented as case studies, highlighting your success and the diversity of research at Otago.
What we need from you:
Your confidence and ability to personally promote your work is crucial.
You will be asked to talk one on one with potential investors, collaborators and future students, whilst also needing to be able to present to groups. Ideally your work will be interactive, have a visual impact and be of interest to a wide audience.
Your department needs to be willing to provide support for your involvement and you will need to be able to explain your work in a way that non-scientists understand.
To apply please supply a 200-300 word summary of your project via email to email@example.com. It would be beneficial if your submission linked to a specific example of Innovation in Agriculture for Ag@Otago. Applications will be reviewed by the Executive Committee in February for final selections.
Please discuss with your HOD or supervisor to ensure you have their support.
The cost to each department will be dependent upon number of participants at each event.
There will be 3 x $1k contributions from Ag@Otago towards collateral/transport.
