Facilities

Auckland Centre's facilities comprise teaching rooms, offices, meeting and seminar rooms which have been custom designed to create comfortable, multi-use spaces suitable for a wide range of purposes, such as specialised short courses, seminars, meetings, employment-related activities and examinations.

Additionally, there is a student use Computer Resource Room and a Common Room.

Two teaching rooms, (3.01 and 3.17) have adjoining suites of five break-out rooms. The three largest teaching rooms are fitted out with a presenters lectern featuring a touch panel, desk top computer, data video projector, DVD, lighting controls and microphones. There are a pair of meeting rooms with seating for up to five people as well as the Dunedin Room, the Centre's elegant boardroom. All rooms have access to a data video projector and wireless broadband.

The Computer Resource Room is equipped with 10 PCs and a networked printer. All enrolled students and visiting staff are entitled to use this facility. The computers are connected to the Otago network and are installed with a variety of software and computer-assisted learning programmes as well as access to email.

The Common Room also has two PCs connected to the University of Otago network. Printing costs 10c per page, linked to the printer in the Computer Resource Room. Printing funds can be loaded by Auckland Centre staff during office hours. While every effort is made to allow Auckland students access to all indexes in some cases they are site-licensed to Dunedin only. In this instance, request the article from Remote Library Services.
