Course Materials Examples
We would like to show you the course materials
used to teach Aviation Medicine papers through the distance teaching
medium. Each DVD course book contains 9 modules of course text and
associated readings. The general instructions of section provides
administrative instructions and overall description of the purpose
of the paper.

Essential Readings
In addition to general administrative instructions there is a course of learning laid out in our course text Click here to see the typical course text providing written tutorial material for students to follow as they pursue their learning in a particular topic area. As you can see from this module, attached to the course text is a series of essential readings which are also included in the course book. Audio Visual Materials
In addition to written materials there are audio visual materials as digital video clips, digital audio files and Powerpoint presentations. Click here to see a Power point presentation linked to the modular course text.
These varied media offer the student the opportunity to learn about particular topics in the most effective teaching possible way. The audio-visual presentations (click to see an example) are provided to you on a DVD to reduce download times as well as ensuring that you have an archive of audio visual and written materials to which you can refer later on without completely filling up the C-drive!
In addition updated readings and other reference materials will be distributed with the weekly diary pages on a regular basis, providing current interest materials, updates and additional materials to added to the portfolio of training resources already available to the student. A list of useful websites provided will also enable the student to remain current with advances in a number of technological areas associated with Aviation Medicine.
Interactive Learning
During your course you will participate in different types of interactive learning activities:
Course Conferences
Regular audio conferences are held during the year. You may participate in the conference either by dialing in from a normal telephone, or by using voice over internet (IP) – VoIP if you have a broadband computer and microphone headset. Further instructions on audio conferencing are available on the OceanBrowser conference support page
Contact with Tutors
You’ll need to have email access as this is one of our primary methods of contact with you. Your course tutors will send out regular “Diary Pages” as the course runs, covering the current study topics.
Residential Schools
The most exciting time of the course is the annual three day Residential School. Previous Residential Schools have been held in Hong Kong/Beijing, Auckland, Hawaii, Fiji, Brisbane, Singapore, Sydney and Rio de Janeiro. The School this year was held in Canada. Next year's will be in Dubai.
