TeachingAssociate Professor Black teaches a microarray module in BIOC 354 Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics, a statistics module in BIOC 452 Metabolism and Regulation, and a course (STAT 435 Data Analysis for Bioinformatics ) on the use of statistical and bioinformatic methods for the analysis of data from microarray and second generation sequencing experiments.

Research

Associate Professor Black's research interests include the analysis of data from gene expression microarray experiments, Bayesian statistical methods, and statistical computing.
