Research Interests

Predominantly researching within the field of intellectual or learning disability, Jenny's recent projects have included studies on quality of life, parenting, diabetes and mental health. 

Current projects include body image of women with intellectual disability (PhD topic), health promotion initiatives through Special Olympics and the experience of people with intellectual disability negotiating the legal system.  All aspects of health and well being for people with intellectual disability and their families are of interest.

A qualitative researcher, Jenny's experience is with broad inductive approaches and grounded theory, which she used for her Master's research on moral decision making of nurses working with children in hospital.

In addition to her position with the University, Jenny works as a researcher with the Donald Beasley Institute.
