Summer Studentships

About the Studentships

Each year the University of Otago, Christchurch campus hosts a Summer Studentship programme that is made up of a number of research projects.

Sponsors

Each individual project in the Summer Studentship programme is generously sponsored by a charitable or business organisation. Sponsors' contributions are paid direct to students as an educational grant.

Information for prospective supervisors 2012

Prospective Supervisors are invited to submit projects for the 2012/2013 programme to the Research Committee of the University of Otago, Christchurch. Projects must be in a health-related field.

Deadline for project applications: 6 July 2012

(Projects not submitted will NOT be accepted into the programme at a later date.)

NOTE: It is requested that supervisors seek ethical approval when they submit their project application. Full ethical approval must be obtained before the project is advertised to students and a copy of the current letter of ethical approval must be provided to the Research Office.

Project applications from potential supervisors who are external to the University of Otago, Christchurch (UOC) and Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB) will only be accepted where they represent a genuine collaboration in a joint supervisor capacity between external staff and staff of the UOC or CDHB.

Supervisors are expected to read the programme handbook to ascertain the rules of the studentship programme and their obligations under the scheme.

Applications are to be submitted electronically on the appropriate form to research.uoc@otago.ac.nz, with a signed hard copy sent to:
