Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences (PGCertHealSc) endorsed in Advanced Clinical Nursing

Overview

This Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences (PGCertHealSc) endorsement offers a coherent, integrated programme of study covering key principles for the advancing practitioner.

It extends nurses’ ability to practise across stable, unpredictable and complex situations and provide safe medication administration. 

Requirements

a) Admission to the programme shall be subject to the approval of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Health Sciences).

b) Every candidate for the Certificate shall:

  1. be a graduate or possess an appropriate health professional qualification requiring at least three years' full-time tertiary study
  2. have experience of or be currently working in the relevant field of health care
  3. present evidence of ability for advanced level academic study.

Structure of the Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences (PGCertHealSc) endorsed in Advanced Clinical Nursing

Two compulsory papers (60 points)
  • NURS 405 Health Assessment and Advanced Nursing Practice (30 points)
  • NURS 416 Nursing - Applied Pharmacology (30 points)
