A study of Roman social relations, with special reference to gladiators, slavery and the family.

A survey course covering major authors of Greece and Rome from Homer to Juvenal featuring narratives of love and war.

A consolidation of linguistic skills in Greek and a study of selected Greek prose texts from the Classical period.

LATN211: Intermediate Latin (Dr. John Garthwaite)

First Semester: 18 points. M, Tu, W, Th 10am

A consolidation of linguistic skills in Latin and a study of selected Latin prose texts from the Classical period.

Prerequisite: LATN112 or HoD approval. Students with a minimum of 16 credits in NCEA Level 3 Latin (or equivalent) may enrol for this paper without taking LATN 111 and 112.
