Classics Research Seminars

The department schedules research seminars every couple of weeks or so during the teaching semesters, and on other occasions as well, depending on the itineraries of visiting scholars. Usual time and venue: Wednesdays at 4pm in Arts 4C11.

Classical Association of Otago

The Classical Association of Otago schedules public lectures on Classical topics every month or so during the teaching semesters. It also helps to arrange quiz nights for junior, intermediate and senior schools in Otago and Southland.

Drama Productions

The Department of Classics staged its first formal dramatic production in 1992, and has since put on a Greek or Latin play (in English translation) (almost) every year. In most cases, we have used our own translations, specially written for the purpose. For fuller details, please click on the link above.
