Learning Outcomes
The Advanced Learning in Medicine (ALM)curriculum builds on Years 2 and 3 of the MB ChB programme by greater application of the theoretical learning of ELM training to clinical settings. There is an important transition from work as a student to work as a health professional. Students spend 75% of their time learning in clinical environments, with supplementary lectures and tutorials. Specific skills include:
  • Skills in working with patients and within a clinical team
  • Attitudes concomitant with professional and ethical patient-centred conduct
  • Independent thinking
  • Research-informed, lifelong learning
