Study Design Studies at Otago
Overview
It is difficult to overestimate the importance of design as everything is, in some sense, designed. Design exists as the central feature of culture and everyday life - a provocative language and enabling framework which catalyses international trade, punctuates economic development and articulates individual, community and national identities.
Design is a complex process balancing creative and strategic thought in mapping and selling new ideas and concepts. Design Studies explores the theory, technology, politics, fashion, communications and consumerism which make design such a significant activity. Course options cater for the creative and the curious.
