  • One of PSME 401 (no longer offered) or PSMX 401 Nature, Extent and Assessment of Mental Disorders, or NURX 403 Mental Health Nursing Practice; and

  • One further 30 point 400-level PSME or PSMX paper excluding PSME 401 or PSMX 401.

Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences (PGDipHealSc) endorsed in Mental Health

Papers
  • Three approved papers to the value of 90 points from
    400-level PSME or PSMX papers,
    NURX 403  Mental Health Nursing Pratice,
    NURX 404  Advanced Mental Health Nursing Practice; and

  • Other approved paper(s) to the value of 30 points.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences (PGDipHealSc) endorsed in Mental Health is available through Distance Learning.

Master of Health Sciences (MHealSc) endorsed in Mental Health

Thesis option
  • Three approved papers from
    PSME or PSMX papers,
    NURX 403  Mental Health Nursing Practice,
    NURX 404  Advanced Mental Health Nursing Practice; and

  • Approved research method paper(s) to the value of 30 points; and

  • A thesis (120 points).

Coursework option
  • Five approved papers from
    PSME or PSMX papers,
    NURX 403  Mental Health Nursing Practice,
    NURX 404  Advanced Mental Health Nursing Practice; and

  • Approved research method paper(s) to the value of 30 points; and

  • A dissertation (60 points).

    Note: A candidate, with the approval of the Board of Graduate Studies in Health Sciences, may substitute alternative papers to a value of 60 points.
