Upcoming Events

The Centre runs a fortnightly Seminar Series aimed at stimulating discussion and debate on issues concerning sustainability. Seminars start at 4pm (unless advertised otherwise) and are held at the Centre for Innovation Seminar Room, corner St David and Castle Streets. We host a range of international and local speakers and presentations are followed by discussion.


Seminar topics are varied and include:

• social-ecological resilience

• environmental stewardship

• Mātauranga Māori

Thursday 25 September - Elizabeth Soal presents "Integrated water management and research for sustainable farming: Lessons from Canada" 

Thursday 9 October -  Representatives from three Dunedin community groups present "Sustainable living: A community model." 

Thursday 23 October - Sara Walton presents  "Lighting Vanuatu: Energy transitions in a development context."

Thursday 6 November - Tim Bishop to present. Title TBC

Thursday 20 November -  Ann Pomeroy presents "Resilience - 30 years of sheep/beef farming in North Island New Zealand."
