Cumberland Court
Cumberland Court is a residential community affiliated to Cumberland College.
‘The Court’ is a great option for students who are starting their journey into student life and want the chance to make friends, live in a safe place, be really close to the action on campus, and have fun!
How it works
The Court is a group of supervised residences located right next to the university campus on Cumberland St. Home to 105 University of Otago students it is a small but close knit community. Its staff includes four Residential Assistants (RA’s) whose job it is to be there to help you out, as well as the Residential Manager, who lives on site.
Cumberland Court maintains an extremely close relationship with Cumberland College. As a Cumberland Court resident you have access to all that Cumberland College has to offer – therefore you get the best of both worlds!
The location is superb - right across the road from the biochemistry building, St David Lecture Theatre, the PhysEd department, or two minutes from the Clocktower, the hub of the main academic campus.
Each house is furnished with whiteware, beds, desks, bookcases and furniture in the common areas, so it just needs your personal touch to make it home for the year!
Meals
Cumberland Court residents have their evening meal at the University Union building, less than one block from Cumberland Court! Lunch is held at Cumberland College and breakfast supplies are even delivered to the Court so you can eat in the luxury of your own flat!
