Dr Lisa Te Morenga comments on a proposed sugary drink ban at various public venues around Dunedin. The Dunedin City Council is investigating the possibility of banning sugar-sweetened beverages from its public events and venues, following similar measures in Nelson and Marlborough.

Dr Te Morenga was interviewed by the Otago Daily Times about the proposal:

"Sugary drinks are just a source of extra calories in our diet and given that we are all getting fatter . . . it's an obvious target"
