Janine Neill and Justine Farquar participate in Shave for a Cure 2014
Before: Janine Neill (left) and Justine Farquar; and after: having raised thousands of dollars for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand.

Department of Pathology staff Janine Neill and Justine Farquar today participated in Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand's Shave for a Cure fundraiser. In full view of passers-by, outside the Hercus Building in Central Dunedin, Janine and Justine had their hair shaved to raise money for this worthy cause.

Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand is the national charity dedicated to supporting patients and their families living with blood cancer or a related blood condition. It receives no government funding, meaning the annual Shave for a Cure fundraiser is critital to the organisation.

Janine and Justine have so far raised well over NZ$3,000—including over NZ$500 from members of the public who passed by during the event.

They are still accepting donations. If you would like to contribute, please see see Justine at the Department of Pathology's reception area, ground floor, Hercus Building.
