Bachelor of Teaching – Early Childhood Education (BTchg)
Overview
Three-year programme (full-time or part-time available)
Dunedin and Invercargill
This programme prepares graduates for employment in a variety of early childhood settings in New Zealand and overseas, including kindergartens, childcare centres and other early childhood settings. Courses within this programme address professional teaching issues, the early childhood curriculum, Te Whāriki, educational theory, subject studies and practical teaching experience. There is an opportunity to undertake selected subject studies in other University departments or related subjects within the College of Education.

Double Degree Option
Also available : double-degree option for Bachelor of Teaching – Early Childhood Education with BA/BCom/BScDunedin only
The completion of an undergraduate degree alongside a Bachelor of Teaching – Early Childhood Education is also available. The double degree can sometimes be completed in four-and-a-half years.
