Graduate Diploma in Teaching - Early Childhood Education
Overview
One-year Programme (full-time or part-time available)
Dunedin and Invercargill (dependent on student enrolments in Invercargill)
This is an intensive programme and a rigorous qualification for graduates who want to enter the exciting world of early childhood education. Courses within this qualification address professional teaching issues, the early childhood curriculum, Te Whāriki, education theory and practical teaching experience.
This is ideally suited to primary-qualified teachers who want to enter the early childhood sector, or graduates who want to gain an early childhood teaching qualification. Students need to have met a proportion of the outcomes prior to entry. Students wishing to undertake this diploma would also need to ensure that they undertake the prerequisite course, EDTX132 – An Introduction to Human Development, or an equivalent paper.
