Distance Study

The University of Otago College of Education offers a number of postgraduate programmes and papers that can be completed through online study. Please note, we currently offer no initial teacher education programmes via distance - our programmes are designed for those who are already teachers or who have completed undergraduate qualifications in education.

The objective of the distance (EDUX) courses is to develop a learning environment where you can learn at any time, at any place, and together with other learners. The aim of our courses is to build a collaborative and learner-centred community based around the online environment.

The courses are entirely Internet-based, using a learning management system called Moodle. Within this system you will find access to all course related documents, your grades and feedback, and links to resources such as the libraries.

Our distance papers are all internally assessed.
