Southland Campus - Ahuahu Te Mātauranga

The Southland Campus in Invercargill was first established in 1980 as a secondary school teacher training facility. In 1989, it became a full campus of the College and now provides a range of teacher education programmes in Early Childhood, Primary, Primary Bilingual and Secondary.

The Southland Campus is small and friendly and offers an attractive and well-resourced library, newly refurbished teaching spaces in a purpose-built facility, as well as providing a range of student services and resources for teachers.

Support Services and Campus Facilities

The Southland Campus hosts over 200 students in Secondary, Primary Bilingual, Primary and Early Childhood teacher education programmes. The campus includes purpose built premises.

Since the establishment of the Southland Campus in 1989, 200 secondary student teachers have graduated, and over the course of the campus's history some 300 teachers have received their training from Southland. The success rate of these graduates in securing teaching positions after graduating is an enviable one – at close to a 100%.
