Welcome to the Dunedin Rare Book School Web Site

In conjunction with the Rare Book School, Charlottesville, VA we were pleased to host the inaugural Australasian Rare Book School in Dunedin, New Zealand.

Three concurrent classes (Medieval MSS, English Book 1600-1800, and Lithography) ran 9:30-5:00 Monday through Friday, 17-21 January 2005. Evaluations from those classes are available on-line:

The school now moves to Melbourne from 13–17 February 2006, where students will have the opportunity to take classes in Bookbinding (Nicholas Pickwoad), The European Book in the Handpress Period, 1450-1830 (Brian McMullin and Pam Pryde), The Book Trade in 19th-c Australia (Wallace Kirsop and Ian Morrison), and Medieval MSS (Margaret Manion and Bernard Muir).

For further information, contact Wallace Kirsop, Director of the Centre for the Book, School of English, Communications and Performance Studies, Monash University, Victoria 3800, Australia. Email centre.forthe.book@arts.monash.edu.au
