Welcome to the Centre for
Entrepreneurship

About

Introduction

The Centre for Entrepreneurship was established in 2007 under the direction of Professor Brendan Gray, the inaugural Dunedin City Chair in Entrepreneurship. As well as encouraging leading edge research, it also incorporates the highly successful Master of Entrepreneurship degree program.

Vision

The Centre for Entrepreneurship aims to integrate entrepreneurship research and teaching in the School of Business and across the wider University, and establish the University of Otago as an internationally recognised hub for entrepreneurship research.

Mission

By linking academics, students, business owners, industry associations, the Dunedin City Council, government departments and other economic development agencies, the Centre generates knowledge to help develop internationally-renowned scholars, expert practitioners, and innovative, creative and internationally-competitive enterprises based in Otago and Southland.

Partners

The Dunedin City Council has donated $1 million towards the endowment fund for the Chair. This was matched by a Government donation under the University of Otago's Leading Thinkers initiative. In addition, the Dean of the School of Business has provided an establishment grant to seed the Centre's research.

The Centre is interested in exploring mutually beneficial partnerships in research, teaching, consultancy and economic development. Please contact us if you are interested in being involved.
