Introduction

The Centre for Entrepreneurship at Otago University, Dunedin, New Zealand was established in 2007 under the direction of Professor Brendan Gray, the inaugural Dunedin City Chair of Entrepreneurship. Professor Sylvie Chetty is the current Dunedin City Chair of Entrepreneurship. She was appointed in August 2012.

The Otago Business School has an internationally-renowned reputation for the quality of its postgraduate qualifications. The Centre for Entrepreneurship incorporates the highly successful and well established Master of Entrepreneurship programme. The Centre for Entrepreneurship forms a hub for entrepreneurship researchers at the University of Otago through regular C4E research workshop series.

The Centre for Entrepreneurship is recognized internationally as a hub for entrepreneurship research and research-led teaching.

Mission

The Centre for Entrepreneurship produces exemplary research and learning in entrepreneurship and develops internationally renowned scholars and a new generation of entrepreneurs.

Partners

The Dunedin City Council has donated $1 million towards the endowment fund for the Chair. This was matched by a Government donation under the University of Otago's Leading Thinkers initiative. In addition, the Dean of the Otago Business School has provided an establishment grant to seed the Centre's research.
