Tom's advice to learners

Put aside any doubts. If you are open to change, anything is possible.

Tom on working at Executive Education

Coaching others isn't work – it's a passion. Helping already high-achieving adults to realise their dreams is immensely satisfying. Otago Executive Education is all about results, for the individual as much as the organisation

Tom on his role at Executive Education

I lecture on leadership at the University of Canterbury. As a lecturer, counselor, and facilitator, I focus on practical, scientific interventions that enhance well-being and resilience, which ultimately open the pathways toward increased human functioning.

Since qualifying as a clinical supervisor 7 years ago, I've coached many clients, including coaches, counsellors, educationalists and organisation leaders.

In the last four years my coaching has been incorporated with lecturing at the Universities of Otago and Canterbury, where the courses we design and teach on leadership are supported by ongoing coaching and mentoring programs.

Background and experience

My studies have been centred on solution focused counselling, education and postgraduate business leadership. I've spent the last decade studying the field of positive psychology and its applications to individual and organisational change and leadership, which has created a solid platform of techniques and experiences to draw on in my coaching work.
