Brenda Bell Memorial Prize in Consumer Food Science

Founded in 1985 from a bequest of $1,000 from the estate of Miss Brenda Bell to the Faculty of Home Science in 1980. The prize commemorates the interest of the donor in the achievements of the Faculty and particularly in the quality and presentation of New Zealand foods.

The prize shall be awarded annually by the University Council on the recommendation of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Sciences), to the student with the highest level of attainment in the Consumer Food Science major in the Bachelor of Consumer and Applied Sciences (72 points from FOSC 303, FOSC 305 to 308, HUNT 331, and one 300-level paper in MART), normally taken in the year in which the award is made.
