Entrance scholarships

Entrance scholarships are a great way to pay for your university study. There are hundreds of scholarships available for first-year students (and many more as you progress through your degree).

What is a scholarship and who can apply?

A scholarship is an award of money to help pay for your university study. Scholarships may cover tuition fees, accommodation expenses, or be a contribution to living costs if you are not in a hall of residence. Scholarships are awarded based upon various criteria - academic results, ethnicity, hardship, and more.

University of Otago Entrance Scholarships are for students who have never studied at the University of Otago and who are planning to undertake full-time, full-year undergraduate study.
