The Genetics Journal Club (GJC) was founded in 2003 by Professor Antony Braithwaite and is currently organised by the Deputy Director of Genetics Teaching Programme, Dr. Caroline Beck
With a strong emphasis on critical assessment of the published work rather than simple 'recapitulation', GJC's goal is to promote critical and independent thinking in our emerging researchers across campus.
It is recommended that all genetics postgraduate students attend, not only as part of their professional development but in order to support their fellow students.
Complimentary pizzas are served during every session - this is a lunchtime event, after all...
The GJC convenes every Wednesday fortnight at 1pm in the Benham Seminar Room at the Department of Zoology during normal semester time.
Please note this is subject to change: for the latest info about the topics, please ensure that you are on the mailout list for Teaching (staff and postgrads) or Genetics Otago (researchers).
