Dr Martyn Kennedy
Evolutionary Biology, Department of Zoology
Martyn is a Research Fellow in the Department of Zoology. He is an evolutionary biologist who uses molecular genetic markers and systematic tools to address a range of evolutionary questions including behavioural evolution, biogeography, host/parasite coevolution, the evolution of organismal diversity, phylogenetics, and taxonomy. Martyn's current research includes looking at many aspects of the evolutionary history of the pelecaniform birds (which includes the pelicans, cormorants and shags, darters, boobies and gannets, frigatebirds, and tropicbirds) and their allies, as well as molluscs (e.g., the rhytidids and caropids) and digger wasps.
