Biographical information

Becky LaurieBecky received a BSc(Hons) in Applied Biology from Bath University (UK), and a PhD (Molecular basis of flowering time in Arabidopsis) from The John Innes Centre and University of East Anglia (UK). Becky moved to New Zealand in 2003 to continue her research into the regulation of flowering time, taking a Postdoctoral position with Dr Richard Macknight at Otago University. In 2006 Becky was the successful recipient of an AGMART post-doctoral fellowship and her focus moved into legumes. During this period Becky was responsible for the Biochemistry Plant Containment Facility and set up and maintenance of a Biochemistry real-time PCR suite.

In 2011 Becky joined Les McNoe in the Otago Genomics Facility and was instrumental in the setup of an Illumina HiSeq sequencing service, in conjunction with New Zealand Genomics Ltd (NZGL). Becky is currently the Otago Genomics Facility Manager overseeing operations and service provision.
