Philips PW2400 X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF)

The department has a Philips PW2400 X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF) which is used routinely for 32 element bulk analyses of rocks and minerals.

Kat Lilly is responsible for the XRF and her research interests are listed below:

  • microbeam analytical techniques
  • fenitisation processes
  • mineralogy of carbonatites
  • mineral deposits
