The autumn graduation was notable for father-and-son links to the Department of Geology. Matthew Smillie (front left) and James Rattenbury (front right) both graduated BSc in Geology. The previous generation is behind: left - Robert Smillie (MSc), and right - Mark Rattenbury (PhD); both these alumni have had well-established careers in Geology. On the top row are current staff who helped supervise one or other of both father and son: left to right, Dave Craw, Alan Cooper, and Richard Norris.
