Sites of Interest to Volcaniclastic Sedimentologists
There are dozens of volcano and sedimentology sites around, and most of them are linked to each other in some way.
Try starting with
- The IAVCEI home page is a great way to find volcano pages
- International Association of Sedimentologists has "Sedimentology" as their professional journal sign up and get this worthwhile journal, which carries the occasional volcaniclastic paper as well as many process-oriented ones, for a very reasonable rate. Site also lists upcoming meetings and publications. Includes a network of sedimentology correspondents.
- Society for Sedimentary Geology - SEPM (Society for Sedimentary Geology) is an international not-for-profit Society based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Through its network of international members, the Society is dedicated to the dissemination of scientific information on sedimentology, stratigraphy, paleontology, environmental sciences, marine geology, hydrogeology, and many additional related specialties.
- NOAA Data Centers - Ocean Drilling Data International program explores ocean basins, and provides ocean-drilling research data. Includes reports on sedimentology and volcanology.
- Volcano World Popular and well-maintained volcanology site at University of North Dakota
- USGS Bedform Sedimentology Images of bedforms and crossbedding includes QuickTime and mpeg movies and downloadable simulation software from the US Geological Survey.
- How volcanoes work?
- NASA EOS IDS Volcanology A Global Assessment of Active Volcanism, Volcanic Hazards, and Volcanic Inputs to the Atmosphere from the Earth Observing System.
- Postgraduate Research Institute for Sedimentology Postgraduate Research Institute for Sedimentology, Univeristy of Reading
- Electronic Volcano
- The Michigan Tech page keeps up to date on active volcanoes, and has photo links, etc.
- Italian Sedimentology Group Learn about this group within the Italian National Research Council which coordinates sedimentary geology researchers and scholars.
