Geology Databases
Collection Databases
Here at the Department of Geology we maintain several collections of rocks, minerals, fossils, maps etc.
It is possible to search and view our collections if you visit the department. We plan to make the collections searchable via a web interface. When complete you will be able to search by keyword and view details and images.
At this stage the available information is a database of New Zealand Fossil Record of Ferns and Fern Allies (Cieraad & Lee 2006,"The New Zealand fossil record of ferns for the past 85 million years"; MSc thesis by Ellen Cieraad 2003, "New Zealand fossil ferns: history and ecological significance").
Please contact us if you are interested in finding out more about our collections.
Literature Databases
The University subscribes to a number of on-line databases of geological literature. Staff and postgraduate students can access these databases via the University Library website. Note that a University username and password is required for off-campus login.
