Needle in a Haystack – Helping Humanities Postgraduates Find it With Web 2.0 tools
In this session, library staff will introduce humanities students to Web 2.0 tools to help you to keep up-to-date with the latest information about your research topic.
Library staff will:
- Explain what RSS means
- Provide examples of various freely available RSS feed readers (e.g. Google Reader, Netvibes)
- Demonstrate how to set up RSS feeds for:
o the latest news
o tables of contents from journals or magazines
o citation alerts
o results from database searches
o blogs
By the end of this session, you will know how to set up RSS feeds to automatically receive updates from many sites in just one place.
