Exceptional PhD theses

The Division of Health Sciences celebrates research excellence at every level. We take great pleasure in acknowledging PhD candidates who have presented a thesis of exceptional quality.

Research

Health Sciences staff undertake research that makes tangible benefits to the lives of many New Zealanders, and in doing so they consistently win some of the country's most prestigious awards for research excellence.

The depth and breadth of our research expertise means that research informs our teaching across all aspects of health professional training, and we believe we are laying the foundations for the next generation of New Zealand's health research leaders.

Otago Spotlight Series Research Forums

Every year Health Sciences presents a day of research around an important health subject. Recently these and have been about cancer research, cardiovascular disease, and child health.

Distinguished, and emerging researchers, present easy-to-understand short outlines of their current work to a mixed audience of clinicians, community workers, policymakers, colleagues, funders and the public. The day is provided free of charge.

The presentations are recorded and subsequently made available for viewing. You can read more about the forums and view the videos:
