History undergraduate courses are taught over one semester by means of lectures and tutorials. The usual format is two fifty-minute lectures each week and fortnightly tutorial rounds for each paper, with slight variation depending on the lecturer and the nature of the course. For example, some History courses schedule extra sessions for movie screenings. Courses at 400-level are taught in areas related to staff members' research interests, and are usually run as two to three hours seminars.
