Mixed blessings: Oral histories of the progeny left behind by US servicemen and Cook Islands mothers in WWII

Because of military policy at the time, the birth parents were not allowed to marry, and thus, these children were assimilated into kinship care. This compendium presents stories of those lives and examines the influence that their mixed heritage had on their lives and their sense of identity.
