Research Interests

My research interests centre on nineteenth century science, religion, race, politics and gender, and their interconnections. I am currently working on 3 projects: humanitarian Christianity in nineteenth-century New Zealand; the Christian missionary movement and modern Western science; and southern Dunedin's religions 1890s-1940s.
