After You've Applied

Once you have applied, we will send you an email acknowledging your application.  If you have not received an acknowledgement within 24 hours, please login and check your application, or contact yourcareer@otago.ac.nz for assistance.

Where a closing date is specified, applications will close at 11.59pm (NZT), and the advert will not appear on the University careers website after that time.  If you have applied to the position, you will still be able to view the vacancy information in the ‘my job page’ section of your account.

We will normally communicate with you by email to acknowledge your application, confirm interview arrangements, advise you of the outcome of your application and to make any offer of employment. 

Please note: when we communicate through our recruitment system, emails will be from universityofotago@invalidemail.com.  This domain is registered by the Taleo Corporation.  These are genuine communications from the University of Otago.  Replying to this email will not reach us. Instead, please use the contact details provided in the content of the emails.


If you are invited for an interview, whānau support will be welcome.  Please let us know in advance so suitable arrangements can be made.
