General Staff Award for Exceptional Performance
In November 2004 the Vice Chancellor's Advisory group approved the institution of the University of Otago Award for Exceptional Performance by General Staff. The purpose of this annual award is to recognise and reward members of the general staff who have made an outstanding contribution to the University of Otago.
The 2011 Award Winner
The 2011 award has been given to the Physics Department’s Mechanical Workshop Team, Mr Peter Stroud (Chief Technical Officer) and Mr Richard Sparrow (Mechanical Technician).
Peter and Richard are highly commended for their outstanding commitment to the University. Their excellent work and innovative technical skills have benefited both staff and students, and have contributed to a number of inter-departmental research collaborations.
The award was presented by Professor David Skegg to the team at a ceremony on Tuesday 5 July 2011.
