Who to ask for help
If you need help with a work related matter, or a personal problem that is affecting your work or home life, various support options are available.
If you think that you need help with a problem in your employment, then you should raise this with your Manager or Head of Department as soon as possible, so that they can try to resolve it with you.
Divisional HR Managers and HR Advisors
If for any reason you feel unable to raise a problem with your manager, you should approach another appropriate manager or Human Resources. In the latter case your Divisional HR Manager (DHRM), Senior HR Adviser, or HR Adviser will be the first person to contact. They provide support to defined client groups, and can assist you with any problem, or put you in touch with someone who can.

The Ethical Behaviour Network is a group of Otago staff and students who are trained to provide a first point of contact for anyone who has concerns. The members of the contact network won’t tell you what to do but they will provide a safe place for you to talk through your concerns and they will help you identify options.
More information is available on the Mediation pages.
