Otago International School student services

Accommodation

The majority of University of Otago students live in houses within 15 minutes’ walk of campus. International School students will enjoy an authentic experience, with their Dunedin accommodation placements within local student neighbourhoods. Each person has their own bedroom, sharing common areas with other students. Full catering is provided one of our residential colleges, University College (UniCol). During field studies outside of Dunedin, accommodation and most meals will be provided.

Information Technology Services (ITS)

All students are automatically given a username and email address on enrolment, giving them access to computers and web-based service systems. Computer areas are located around the Dunedin campus and several are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Wireless internet access is available at selected campus locations, including all libraries on campus.

Libraries

The University Library has several branches, all fully computerised with online search facilities. The Central Library is in the University’s Information Services Building, a world-class architecturally-designed facility. It is a vibrant hub of activity, as students are drawn to study, read or meet in its various comfortable spaces. International School students have access to the libraries during the on-campus period and online access to resources continues until final hand in (31 August 2016).

Medical and travel insurance for International Students

Because international students must have comprehensive medical and travel insurance while studying in New Zealand, insurance for the three weeks of the International School is built into the International School fee.
