Complex problems like the West African outbreak of Ebola highlight the need for doctors, veterinarians and ecologists to work more closely together, Swiss Professor Jakob Zinsstag-Klopfenstein says.

Science and medicine had become so specialised it hindered the ability to grasp the whole picture, Professor Zinsstag-Klopfenstein, president of the International Association for Ecology and Health, said in Dunedin this week.
