Scheduled Outage: Microsoft Security Updates

Time Frame:   Friday 13th of July 2012 between 6:00pm– 8:00pm  

Audience: Staff using Citrix Published Applications- Alchemy Search Client, ARS, Starrez Exec Res

Description: On the 2nd Wednesday of each month, Microsoft release their monthly software security updates. Each update is evaluated on the risk to the IT infrastructure and its impact to the business, and if deemed critical, selected updates will need to be applied to affected University of Otago systems. Some updates may require a restart of the affected systems and may cause a service to be briefly unavailable.
This notice is an advance warning to aid staff and students in planning around any potential disruptions to the University of Otago IT systems and services.  

       Note: This scheduled process will occur and will be notified 3 days prior.

Services Affected: 

During the above time frame, the following Citrix Published Applications will have an brief outage of up to 15minutes:

  • Alchemy Search Client
  • ARS
  • Starrez Exec Res
