International Exchange

Otago University is proud of its International Exchange programme. Students accepted for the programme are able to spend up to one year in one of the university's partner institutions abroad studying courses that can be credited to their Otago degree, while paying local fees only. This scheme is of great benefit to all students, but particularly language students who have the opportunity to live and study in a language immersion situation.

Otago University has recently negotiated student exchange relationships with several Japanese universities, through which successful students are offered scholarships from the Japanese government for an all-expenses-paid year of study in a sister university in Japan. This scheme offers a wonderful opportunity for students to master the language and gain first hand knowledge of Japan and its culture.

The following seven universities in Japan are currently in exchange relationships with Otago.
