Holding a Master of Arts in French from McMaster University (Canada) and a PhD in French literature from University of British Columbia (Canada), Dr Constantin Grigorut has published articles and presented papers mainly on the intertextual dimension of twentieth century French and francophone literatures, with focus on literary works by E-M Cioran (philosophical essay), Michel Tournier (novel), Samuel Beckett (theatre), Anne Hébert (novel) and Louis Hamelin (novel).

For many years he has been the CIEF (Conseill International d'Études Francophones) Regional Representative for Asia/Pacific and was awarded - in 2020 - by The French Ministry of Culture the title of Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Palmes Académiques/Knight of the Order of Academic Palms.

He supervised and co-supervised notable postgraduate research projects. Among his alumni: Dr Octavian Saiu - a major theatre critic in Europe - and, more recently, Dr Nicolas Fargues - a well-known contemporary French writer and Goncourt Prize finalist.
