The University of Otago Legal Issues Centre - Te Pokapū Take Ture
The University of Otago Legal Issues Centre (UOLIC) is based in the Faculty of Law. The Centre serves as an intellectual meeting ground for interdisciplinary researchers, legal practitioners, policy makers and educators interested in advancing knowledge about the impact of law, legal processes and services. Its purpose is to carry out research on legal issues relating to how a more accessible, affordable and efficient legal system can be created for the benefit of all citizens and to carry out research on how courts can best ascertain the truth and arrive at a fair and just outcome. We aim to conduct and disseminate empirical research of the highest international quality that promotes understanding of access to justice. The Centre’s goals are:
